Coaching provides a confidential forum for the development of leadership and management skills. It also enables individual feedback to be given in a supportive environment. The ongoing process aids retention and use of newly acquired skills as compared to one off training courses where the lessons learned are often not translated into changes in every day behaviour.
Issues which can be addressed through coaching are inter-personal skills, self management, communication styles, delegation and management, supervision and development of others, presentation skills and client relationship management. Coaching provides self reflective learning and the opportunity for direct feedback from the coach.
